Appreciating for the Baptist Health Team During Times of Crisis

The world is facing an ever-changing—but still constantly new—landscape in these current times. It can be hard to slow down, focus, and spend time ruminating about the great things in life, so that’s what the folks at Baptist Health are doing this week. We’re taking a moment to recognize the fantastic things our Baptist Health family has been doing during this time of crisis. First, we must commend all the dedication to the frontline staff, environmental services team, and other essential employees who are working with the Arkansas population: they are truly the heroes of our story. But there’s a variety of ways our Baptist Health team has been helping their community. Have you been tuning into our discussions about health and wellness with local news stations? Dr. Charles Chamblee, a fantastic physician with our Behavioral Services team, spoke with KATV and ABC7 about how we can use this extra time at home to focus on self-improvement. “Take a look at developing some skills that you can use now to bring about that calm that you can implement later,” Dr. Chamblee advised. “A simple thing you can do is breathe intentionally.” A not-so-simple thing our Baptist Health team also accomplished lately was accreditation! Baptist Health-UAMS Family Medicine Residency program received a full 10-year accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education as of April 29th. “It is gratifying to see that this spirit of teamwork between UAMS and Baptist Health is enabling us to successfully fulfill our mission to train future family medicine physicians and increasing the pool of doctors who may choose to remain in Arkansas to practice,” said Cam Patterson, M.D., MBA. This is a great move to benefit the families and communities across Arkansas; we are truly impressed by our people who always Keep On Amazing. Last (and by far not the least), we’re still thinking about the day that the Little Rock community amazed us. For those who didn’t hear about it, our Little Rock hospital was the focal point of appreciation earlier this month. Tim Moody of JHook Towing & Recovery, alongside the Arkansas State Police, Pulaski County Sheriff's Office, and Brother Paul of Friendly Chapel Church of the Nazarene and FLAME Non-Profit organized a one-of-a-kind event to recognize our healthcare workers. That night, tow truck drivers and first responders parked at our Little Rock facility and participated in a widespread prayer in honor of the selfless people combating COVID-19 inside our facilities. There are no words to use to describe their kindness. It just goes to show that there are moments of brilliance and appreciation through the difficult times. Baptist Health will always Keep On Amazing.
